By creating an account, accessing, or using Public Pulse, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the platform.
1. About Public Pulse
Public Pulse is a civic engagement and public opinion platform that enables users to:
- Participate in polls and surveys
- View public opinion trends
- Engage with local community issues
- Access aggregated public opinion insights
Public Pulse is intended for informational and civic engagement purposes only.
Public Pulse does not endorse, support, or oppose any political party, politician, candidate, government, organization, policy position, advocacy group, or viewpoint.
2. Eligibility
To use Public Pulse, you must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Comply with all applicable laws
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you satisfy these requirements.
3. User Accounts
Users may create an account using approved authentication methods.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain the security of your account
- Notify us of unauthorized account access
- Be responsible for all activity associated with your account
You may not:
- Create multiple accounts
- Share accounts
- Transfer accounts
- Impersonate another person
- Use false or misleading information
Public Pulse reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at its discretion.
4. One User, One Vote
Public Pulse is committed to maintaining the integrity of public opinion data.
Each user may vote only once per poll, survey, issue, or participation opportunity unless otherwise stated.
Users may not:
- Create duplicate accounts
- Use automated systems
- Attempt to manipulate results
- Coordinate fraudulent participation
- Circumvent platform safeguards
Public Pulse may invalidate votes, suspend accounts, or remove participation data where misuse is detected.
5. Local Issues
Public Pulse may display local issues submitted by users, municipalities, organizations, media sources, public records, or Public Pulse administrators.
All issue submissions are subject to review and approval by Public Pulse before publication.
Publication of an issue does not constitute endorsement, verification, approval, or confirmation of accuracy by Public Pulse.
Public Pulse may edit, decline, remove, archive, or update issues at any time.
6. User Conduct
Users agree not to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse others
- Submit false or misleading information
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
- Interfere with platform functionality
- Upload malicious code or software
- Use automated bots or scripts
- Circumvent platform security measures
Public Pulse may investigate suspected violations and take any action deemed appropriate.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, software, designs, graphics, branding, logos, trademarks, text, reports, data compilations, and platform materials are owned by or licensed to Public Pulse.
Nothing in these Terms grants users any ownership rights in Public Pulse intellectual property.
Users may not:
- Copy
- Reproduce
- Modify
- Distribute
- Sell
- License
- Reverse engineer
any portion of the platform without prior written permission.
8. Public Opinion Data
Public Pulse may create reports, analytics, visualizations, summaries, insights, and statistical products using participation data.
Such reports may include:
- National trends
- Provincial trends
- Municipal trends
- Age-group analysis
- Regional comparisons
- Historical trend analysis
All public reporting is intended for informational purposes only.
Public Pulse does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, representativeness, or suitability of any poll result, report, trend, or analysis.
9. No Professional Advice
Information provided through Public Pulse does not constitute:
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Political advice
- Government advice
- Professional advice of any kind
Users should obtain independent professional advice where appropriate.
10. Third-Party Services
Public Pulse may integrate with third-party providers including authentication providers, analytics providers, mapping providers, and hosting providers.
Public Pulse is not responsible for the content, services, privacy practices, or actions of third parties.
Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.
11. Privacy
Use of Public Pulse is subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in those policies.
12. Suspension and Termination
Public Pulse may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, including where:
- These Terms are violated
- Fraud is suspected
- Security concerns arise
- Platform misuse is detected
- Required by law
Public Pulse may also remove content, votes, submissions, or accounts where necessary to protect platform integrity.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Public Pulse is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Public Pulse disclaims all warranties, including:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy
- Reliability
- Availability
- Non-infringement
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Public Pulse, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any:
- Direct damages
- Indirect damages
- Incidental damages
- Special damages
- Consequential damages
- Punitive damages
- Loss of profits
- Loss of data
- Business interruption
arising from or related to the use of the platform.
If liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user to Public Pulse in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Public Pulse, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your submitted content
- Your violation of any law
- Your infringement of any third-party rights
16. Changes to the Platform
Public Pulse may modify, suspend, discontinue, or remove any portion of the platform at any time without liability.
Features, functionality, and services may change without notice.

Public Pulse may update these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms will be posted on the platform with a revised Effective Date.
Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of Public Pulse shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
